Massage ranges from light to deep pressure to passive stretching. There are many different types of massage, including:
Swedish massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, and tapping to help relax and energise.
Deep tissue massage. This technique uses slower, more forceful strokes to target deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly used to help muscles recover from injury.
Myofascial release. This is a form of stretching, designed to help release connective tissue and ease pain.
Trigger point massage. This focuses on areas of tight muscle fibres that can form in your muscles after injury or overuse.
Reflexology. Using pressure points on your feet, reflexology can pinpoint specific issues or areas of concern, and help you feel relaxed. If you're suffering from stress, this is a great way to relieve some of those symptoms.
